The SID is a fully integrated team that will bring together the strengths, capabilities, and knowledge of the partners and Network Rail. It will own the renewals work bank, manage it at portfolio level and drive a transition to a production management ethos. The SID is commercially aligned and jointly incentivised creating a ‘share in success’ environment. Business partners within the alliance will generate profit through performance against the Final Determination. The four partners, VolkerFitzpatrick, Octavius, Atkins, and VolkerRail are aligned to the core asset disciplines with the fifth partner, Network Rail Minor Works, being multi- disciplinary for low complexity, low value works.
We have a great opportunity for an Installer to join the Major Projects business working on the Southern Integrated Delivery project based in the South East of England.
You will be responsible for :
Undertaking installation work on Signalling Systems (electrical/mechanical) and their associated equipment as directed, to the laid down standards, work and safety plans, observing risk assessments and safe methods of work in accordance with specific Work Package Plans & Task Briefs.
About you
- The ability to use test/measuring equipment, work from signalling design and the ability to carry out checks is essential.
- You will also be able to work flexibly as part of a small team and must hold at a minimum an Assistant Installers licence (IRSE).
- Must possess a Sentinel Competency Card (PTS) and have had previous experience within railway signalling.
- Succession plan opportunities for advancement into roles such as SMTH, points fitter or team leader supported by industry-leading training and mentorship from experienced engineers
- The position will be site based and will involve travel to various locations.
- To meet the requirements and the demands of this challenging role you must have a flexible approach with a commitment to work at night and weekends.
- A full driving licence is required for this role.
